2. General Description

1) The AI650® 95kPa Biohazard Specimen Transportation Bag are qualified to withstand the requirement

of ICAO Packaging Instruction 650 and the CFR 49, Parts 100 to 195 and thus ensure the safety during

the Transportation of Dangerous Goods or Biohazard Materials by Air.

 

2) The bags were developed for carriage of dangerous or biohazard substances in conditions of the

inside/outside pressure differential of not less than 95kPa. Also the sealed bag with dangerous materials

inside can withstands a temperate in between -40°C and +55°C (or between -40°F and +131°F).

 

3) Each of the bag have a absorbent pocket sleeve inside which is capable of holding 7 cryogenic vials

and with a absorbency of minimum 200ml of distilled water.

3. Product Description

Our 95 kPa bags satisfy supplementary packaging requirements in the IATA DG Regulations (5.0.2.9.4).

These bags are designed to be used with inner packaging containing liquids that, in themselves, do no

comply with 95 kPa pressure requirements. When a 95 kPa bag is used in conjunction with each inner

packaging containing liquid, the assembled UN package is eligible to be transported by air (IATA DGR

packaging instructions must also be followed to ensure compliance). Our pressure bags also double as

a barrier between intermediate packaging (ie. vermiculite or other absorbent) and inner containers in

and 650 of the 2001-02 ICAO Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air.

 

Instructions for use

1. These pressure bags are made with a custom film structure that features a strong adhesive closure

and continuous seal, which makes it ideal for critical liquid and substance containment. The permanent

adhesive closure withstands a temperature range of -40⁰C up to +55⁰C (-40⁰F up to +130⁰F).

3. Take the guesswork out of packaging, protecting and shipping four inner containers of your hazmat

materials in one box with AI 650’s 4GV Packaging Kits. These UN-certified, Variation Two shippers are

suitable for shipping hazardous liquids or solids in Packing Groups I, II and III by any mode of transportation.

They can accommodate your own glass or plastic bottles which must pass hydrostatic pressure tests to

meet ISTA Procedure 1A when shipping by air. These kits include everything you need to protect your

containers’ internal contents, such as absorbent pouches, fiberboard insert, fiberboard pads, ties,

pressure-sensitive tape and a 4GV corrugated outer box. Available in two sizes, you can ship either four

8-oz. or four 1L containers. Save yourself time and avoid packaging errors and compliance issues when

shipping four inner containers of hazardous materials by using one of these all-inclusive 4GV packaging kits.

4. It is suitable for transport packaging of pipes, bottles, containers or some samples with potential

infectious sources to the laboratory. This series of products received 95KPa pressure and leakage test

6. How to Close The Shipping Bag Properly

Specimen shipping bags in this carton are designed to perform at high internal pressure, should an

airliner lose its cabin pressure. So, in order for the bag to be effective and perform to its design capabilities,

the bag must be closed properly after insertion of the specimen
